We were absolutely devastated to announce that the August Artisan Market in Colwyn Bay was cancelled.
For insurance purposes we had to abide by 'The Met Office' which was forecasting gusts of 30-40mph all day long with the arrival of 'storm Betty' which meant it was simply too dangerous to proceed.
We had a fabulous 'seaside' themed market planned in honour of the Pier so we are truly gutted to have to cancel it, but the safety of our customers & traders is our priority.
It was 'Storm Doris' that took down the pier in 2017 so it feels somewhat ironic that her sister 'Storm Betty' should ruin our 'Year Of The Pier' Artisan Market!!
Our sincerest apologies to everyone who was planning to come and enjoy the market, to all our entertainers and singers, and of course our Artisans who have been busy making & baking for this day!
And especially to Colwyn Victoria Pier Trust Campaign who were a big part of this special day - we'll just have to celebrate the Pier next year instead!
We'll see you all again on September 16th for our special 'Biscuit festival' Artisan Market where hopefully the sun will be shining and we can all make up for the fun we're missing out on tomorrow!
